Software Experience

Document Management: Mostly for document management I have used SharePoint. I started with SharePoint in 2003 and have worked with every version since. I started installing and configuring SharePoint from 2010 and later once I started going more network administration work.

E-Mail:  I have used Exchange since 2007 managing mailboxes. Since Exchange 2013 I have performed installations and migrations from older versions of Exchange as well as alternate e-mail services. With Office365 I have migrated both to and from Office365 for small to medium size customers as well as use Office365 to manage my own e-mail.  In late 2022 I will be overseeing a project to migrate my current employer from Exchange on-premise to Office 365.

OBS Studio: I have lately been running OBS studio for a number of reasons. During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic I used it to broadcast a courtroom’s audio to YouTube to ensure that the public was able to hear the court proceedings. I have also used it to do screen recordings for training videos that have been distributed at work. In addition, I have used it to broadcast to Twitch where I’ve used it the most.

Operating Systems:  I mostly work inside of and manage Windows Server settings. I have worked on Windows Server 2003 through Server 2022. More recently I have been doing some limited management on Linux servers. I have two running professionally in my office and a handful that I run at home for various purposes such as running Pi-Hole for DNS, the Unifi controller software, and a pair of dedicated Satisfactory servers.

Phone Systems: I have worked on a number of phone systems.  The one that I have the most experience with lately is Mitel Connect Onsite (Formerly Shoretel).  In addition to that system I have extensive experience with 3CX and still perform work on those systems as requested by a former colleague that occasionally needs assistance.  Outside of that I have limited experience with Cisco Call Manager and Call Manager Express as well as Asterix.

Website: For website management I have used IIS running standard HTML pages as well as WordPress for content management. In addition I have used Apache in a Unix environment again with static HTML/CSS pages as well as WordPress and phpBB. I have installed these from scratch as well as working with a hosting company on shared hosting services such as BlueHost and GoDaddy.  More recently I am using Name Cheap for my domain registrar, and hosting.

Web Browsers: I utilize a number of browsers. I prefer Firefox for some of the extra customization options that it offers. That being said I have Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome installed on all of my systems. I have used and managed all three browsers in a professional setting using Group Policy extensions to ensure that certain things are configured to appropriately function in a business setting.
